A gentle introduction to cooperative play and strategy: each key drawn frees a different animal, so children can discuss together which is the best choice to make. They learn to win or lose together.
On his turn, a player draws a token.
If it’s a key: Congratulations! He can free an animal. He can choose to free an animal identical to the one on the key token (regardless of cage color), or free an animal locked in a cage of the same color as the key token (regardless of animal). The freed animal’s tile is placed on the board, in square order, face up.
If it’s a poacher: Oops, a poacher is listening! The player places this token on a Poacher square on the board. If all the animals are released before all the Poacher squares are covered: it’s a win! If all 3 Poacher squares are covered before all 12 animals are released, you lose!
